Continuing The Legacy
of Aviation Essay Contest
of Aviation Essay Contest
Southwest Airlines and Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (TAI) are jointly hosting a Nation-Wide Essay Contest for youth,
ages 14 – 18. In 500 words or less, each contestant must explain how they have been inspired or
motivated by the accomplishments and contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen!
Submissions must be received by August 20, 2008 via email to the TAI National Youth Director, Lt Col Rodney
Williams, at rodney.williams@miself.ang.af.mil . Late submissions will not be accepted.
There will be one winner selected from each of the three TAI regions. The winner and a guardian will be flown to
Southwest Airlines Headquarters in Dallas, Texas for the following Aviation Experience on Sept 18, 2008:
1. Tour of Southwest Airlines Facility
2. Experience in the Flight Simulator
3. Tour of Love Field Control Tower
